Show the year in the activity feed

The year is not shown and so we are often confused as to whether the card was created recently or a long time ago. We run into this when we periodically review/purge old cards so it is quite a visible Favro shortcoming that the team sees.
I suggest the general rule in the UI should be, "If you are showing a date, ALWAYS show the year as well". Even if the date is from the current year. It is important for readability that date formats are consistent.

Date headers for activity logs doesn't include the year, which can result in misrepresentation for the activity.
While it is possible to hover over the clock time to see the full date, this is not supported for the date headers. The hover functionality also sometimes just doesn't show.
I believe it would be much easier to read timelines for old cards if the date headers also included the year, or if there where a year header.

Hi J, could you provide a screenshot where it does not show a date properly? If the year is not visible, that means it is this year.

Dovidas Baranauskas I just realized that in the COMMENTS, the year is actually displayed next to the date when it's from previous years... So we're missing it only i the ACTIVITY FEED.
Side note, if we need to keep the date display as short as possible:
- for current year activities, display: Day of the week & date ("Tuesday, April 8th")
- for previous years activities, display: Date & year ("November 28th, 2024")

Dovidas Baranauskas Just chipping in to say that it does show the required data, but it's not the most intuitive. I had no idea that hovering over a date (specifically the date on the individual activity) would show a tooltip with the full date until I read this ticket!
Also, as J pointed out, the hover functionality seems a bit intermittent for me (using Firefox on a Mac, so maybe I'm a bit of an edge-case).
I think for ease of use, it would just be nicer if the "separators" between comments displayed the year. Having to hover on comments is a little finicky and, when you have a card that has existed for over a year with many transitions and comments (of course, we don't have any like this... Ahem), it would be easier when scrolling through to see which year the "activities" took place.
As Amelie Beaulne pointed out, the year appears in the comment separators (see screenshot). It would be good if this were also true for the activity feed.

You can see the extended date with time and exact year date by hovering over the time. It will show the full date and even the time stamp.
