Improved Timeline view
complete
Matthew Hope
- Display fields linked to items in backlogged, i.e. Progress
- Tree view / nested cards
- Anything that would help track progress of milestones on a roadmap timeline...
Hans Dahlström
This is a mockup of some improvements we are working on:
* Viewable fields on cards (like Status och Customfields)
* Lanes in Timeline view
* Milestones in Timeline view
Any feedback is appreciated!

Another great feature we can really use in our team and project planning. Is to have (only on the time line view?) the option to have a timeline entry with a buffer zone at the front and/or end.
Eg, perhaps a card is set for 10 days. But 5 addition days are set as buffer or slack. For any unforeseen things.
Currently we do this either by just leaving space between time line entries. Or by adding a second card with the same name and the word "buffer" added to it. and place it behind the primary entry. But this is of course but cards to track, handle and keep clean.

Timeline view for tagged cards
Sebastian Knight
I would find it useful if I could get a timeline view of cards tagged with specific tag of tags.
Next best would be if the calendar would work with tags also.
Especially useful this would be for tracking what activities involve a certain resource or group of people. Thus when planning a new project, you could get a view of when would be a good time to plan a new activity for this group.

A couple of things that I have had issues with in the timeline and hopefully would fit into this work:
- Moving milestones or cards with start/stop by dragging with the mouse. Sometimes I want to re-arrange them up/down just to get them to display better. But as soon as cards are dragged they change start date. Practically impossible to have a card stay on the same date.
- Cards with a start before the beginning of the zoom of the timeline don't show their title.
- For long term strategic planning it would be nice to be able to zoom the time line out even further. About 3-4 years wide with Major gridlines on years and Minor on quarters

Hans Dahlström could you propose the user stories you are trying to solve with you proposal ? This would help us feedback and , if relevant, augment the scope of what we could hope for.

Missing grouping functionality in the timeline view
Tommy Svensson
I love the addition of the timeline view but it is somewhat lacking in functionality. It seems half way to be a GANTT chart but doesn't quite get there. The option to grow the timeline view downwards doesn't really make any sense as there is no indicator as to what the different "rows" are grouped by.
Ideally, I would like to see the cards to the left as a normal list (sticky as the timeline view scrolls). The cards in this list can be moved up and down. This would be the "group by cards" view (default). Like how the sheet view works in a backlog. A selector for grouping by members would be great for time planning vs resources.
Dependencies would be great to have too! More often than not an activity X cannot start before the completion of Y. Showing these dependencies would greatly improve resource and time planning.

Swimlanes in Calendar View
Niko LaTorre
As a user, I want to group dates by categories so that I can easily see what dates are related to each other.
With the current features, grouping cards into the same row can be a tedious process. Also, setting up multiple timeline boards creates clutter in my team's collection.
Robert Berrier
amazing! Not sure if this is the beste place for this. But a feature that is missed a lot here in the team. It to simply give a card (on the timeline) a set amount of days.
Having to use the calendar with a start and end date is unhandy. Since we add in project planning workloads using days.
