Links open in desktop app
Rob Rogers
Did this ever get worked on or acknowledged?

I agree, this would be really handy for our Slack/Favro workflow. I primarily use the desktop app. It currently links to the browser, where I'm rarely logged in, so it causes a delay in viewing the card.

Figma does this well. https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039824334-Open-links-in-the-desktop-app

An update would be nice from Favro

We use slack and share links there all the time, but they always open in the desktop. When I see a link, I have to manually pull the card ID out of the URL and type it into the desktop app. That would certainly be a better experience if I could just click on the link. Maybe there's a way that I could let the website login know that I have the desktop client? I'm thinking there would be a problem if you registered a
favro://
protocol, because the links in slack would still be https://
. But that goes to the website, and the website could be configured much more easily to redirect to the desktop application based on an account setting.Bruno Capdevila
Erick Robertson: totally agree, I always endup with tens of favro tabs just because of this. Not a light tab to run in addition.
Please FAVRO tell us something, is this progressing ???

Agree with Bryan Bridge, this seems a pretty straightforward improvement that could help boost productivity of our teams.
Also, favro is eager on resources so the fact of having one single instance of the app receiving and opening the custom uris is a plus.

This seems like a thing that wouldn't be too much of an effort to implement and would reduce confusion when sharing Favro links within an organization. James Jenkins Hans Dahlström

Looks like the desktop app uses the Electron framework, I think it would be faily easy to have a favro:// url protocol or something
