Different card templates on one board

Would be great to use different card templates on one board.
We use different card templates for different assignments.
We are a designteam and for the onboarding process or briefing we use card templates to make sure we have al the information we need. Preferably on one board. Now we can only use 1 template on one board. So we have to make different boards or collections to use the different card templates, this makes it unnecessarily large and very cluttered.

With the Template editor you can now select what template to apply to each card when creating it.

Dovidas Baranauskas: Hey, Dovidas - is there any plan to allow application of a template AFTER a card is created? Possibly with an option to apply it without wiping existing information so you can rearrange that info into the new format?
Dovidas Baranauskas
Stephanie Krutsick: Not currently, but it would be interesting to know how you would want it to be. More as a separate menu to choose what to keep and what to overwrite, or just have the option for the description only, or only add new content everywhere without deleting what is already there, but then needing to delete manually if something is not needed?
Stephanie Krutsick
Dovidas Baranauskas: Just an option to overwrite or keep existing content would be fine; no need to overcomplicate at this stage.
Anything along these lines would be much easier to delete extra content than the current process where the only way to apply a template to an existing card and retain the information/hours/sizing/other fields is:
Create Automation To Apply Template When X Action Occurs On Card/Field → Open Existing Card → Select All → Copy/Paste Content To Another Location To Avoid Loss → Add Automation Criteria To Apply Template → Copy/Paste Content From Second Location Back Into Existing Card's New Template

Set Card Template Per Column
Richard Morton
The user should be allowed to set a card template per column, instead of the 'per board' limit. In our project we have asset creation card templates that are different between environment, prop and character. we also have a bugs column. so each type of card should have a different template.

One idea is to use automations to apply card templates like in the clip below Petra Kosterman Pekka Heikkinen - ok?

Hans Dahlström: That is a great solution for the text area, I will use this. But for the custom fields this isn't usable. I need the custom fields to be in a Template.
Pekka Heikkinen
Hans Dahlström: Ohh wow. Thank you for highlighting this. I was not aware that there was such an automation already.

I would like to see this in reality asap.
We organize our backlogs in a sheet view with milestones - goals/user stories - tasks All these cards have different requirement of their contents.
as an example:
milestone has included DL:s version targets, acceptance criterias and links to relevant documentation or tickets
Goals and user stories have the definition of dones and other relevant info that allow for creating tasks
tasks have their estimations
all cards have their distinct tags
Would be great that when creating a ticket, you could either select a template from list or just start typing for starting an empty card

This is exactly what I was saying in a different card. FAVRO could rebuild workflow to fulfill a lot of the feature requests listed here in the icanny.io feature request software. Steps and rules: "choose a template" for each column in workflow rules. If you have 3 columns and in column one you choose template 1 and the rest do not have a template chosen, column 2 and 3 keep the card the same. The limitations of the card must be as follows to ensure data integrity. "What was in card in column 1 needs to show on column two if template 2 was chosen for column 2. (etc. etc.)"
Richard Morton
John Elpers: That would be perfect
